Korea Exchange Selects 22 Companies as ‘KOSDAQ Rising Stars’
Innovative technology firms in telecom equipment, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices included
The Korea Exchange announced on the 7th that it has selected 22 KOSDAQ-listed companies with outstanding technology and growth potential as the final list of the “2025 KOSDAQ Rising Stars.”
The KOSDAQ Rising Star program, launched in 2009, is conducted annually to support the mid-to-long-term growth of promising KOSDAQ companies and to strengthen the competitiveness of the KOSDAQ market.
For 2025, 15 companies from the 39 firms selected in 2024 were re-selected, while 7 new companies were added, bringing the total to 22. Notably, a large number of new companies come from innovative industries with advanced technologies, such as telecommunications equipment, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
The re-selected companies are: Lunit, Lake Materials, L&C Bio, BassoCell, Comico, CIS, MRO, T&L, Neosem, Neuromeka, Above Semiconductor, Genian, HB Solution, Jarvis, and Hunetion.
The newly selected companies are: ST Pharm, NextBioMedical, Solid, SemCNS, DNT, TRUEN, and Union Biometrics.
Candidates are chosen among companies that either (1) hold global dominance in their core products, (2) maintain a strong domestic market share in innovative industries, or (3) demonstrate continuous revenue growth in innovative sectors. Selection involves both quantitative evaluation (financial requirements) and qualitative evaluation (CEO interviews), followed by review by an expert committee composed of internal and external specialists.
Selected companies receive various benefits, including exemption from annual listing fees and listing charges (for one year), IR (Investor Relations) support, publication of analyst reports, and preferential interest rates from IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.
The Korea Exchange emphasized, “The Rising Star program is designed to discover and foster companies with excellent technology and growth potential, and should not be interpreted as the Korea Exchange recommending investment in these companies.”
